October 11-15, 2025 - Response to submissions
October 25, 2025 - Day of Arkansas Indie Fest (Set up Begins at 7:00AM AM, Festival opens at 9:00 AM)

Submission Guidelines

To enter games, short animations or short films, entrants must fill out a submission form online and include a link to a short trailer (less than one minute) showing off game play (games) or a brief intro to the film/animation. Table top games are also encouraged. Rather than a submitting a trailer, please submit a brief intro and an image or images of the game.

You will receive a response to your submission by October 15 if submitted before the late deadline. All other submissions will get a response by October 15.  Further instructions regarding showing at the festival will be included in the response email.

Game Submissions - There is $25 table fee ($20 for students) for accepted games and an expectation that you will have a representative(s) to showcase the game. If you are unable to be present at the festival but still want to submit and show a game, please contact Rhaelene Lowther ([email protected]) and alternative/proxy arrangements can be made on a limited basis.

Film and Animation Submissions - No table fee is required for films. If you desire a T-shirt please use the product page at the ARIF Shop in the site menu.  If you have any questions about the screening process or schedule, please contact us.

Restrictions and Eligibility
We encourage independent creation in a range of forms and media and have certain guidelines in place to foster this Indie spirit.

Content restrictions
While there is no rating system restrictions, we ask you to identify questionable content for managing viewing. We reserve the right to reject works that contain hate speech, extreme sexual content or violent content subject to review by the Arkansas Indie Fest administrative committee.

Independently Created: While the tern "indie" is nebulous, we ask that all submissions be the creations of individuals or small teams working with smaller sized budgets.

Credits: Please credit all parties involved in the creation of your work in a credits page.

State of Development:
Games: games should be in a strong playable state         
Animated short films: animations under 20 minutes long in a public viewing state/ finished
Short films: films under 30 minutes completed

Release: If your work is accepted into the festival you release the festival to use images and descriptions of your work for promotional purposes including the ARIF website and YouTube page.
Once submitted, your project will go into the queue for review.
If selected to participate, you will received an e-mail with further instructions.

The selection process could take several weeks, please be patient.
